Lampshade
A structured box-pleated lampshade, defined by crisp vertical folds that create a clean, sculptural form. The pleats allow the silk brocade to unfold in panels, revealing subtle shifts in colour and pattern as the light moves. When illuminated, the silk gently reflects the light, bringing depth and a soft, shifting glow.
Named after Kouri Island, where clear blue waters meet quiet shrines along the coast — a place where sea, light and a sense of the sacred coexist. Inspired by the luminous blue of its sea.
All lampshades are handmade in England.

Fabrics
The fabric features the traditional Baoxianghua motif in soft blue tones, accented with coral and ivory — a quiet nod to harmony and balance. The Baoxiang flower is an ornamental motif that flourished during the Tang Dynasty (7th–10th century). It is a stylised composite bloom that blends elements of lotus, peony and other auspicious flowers. Through this idealised design, artisans sought to represent the idea of perfect beauty and harmony.
In historical Chinese textiles, this motif appeared widely in silk weaving, ceramics and architectural decoration. Its circular symmetry and layered petals symbolised prosperity, balance and abundance, making it a favourite pattern in court fabrics and ceremonial objects.
The woven silk softly diffuses the light, allowing the pattern to reveal itself gradually and giving the fabric a warm, luminous presence.

Measurements refer to the frame size. Each lampshade is supplied with a frame. All lampshades are made to order, with an estimated dispatch time of 2–3 weeks.
