The sliding upper doors incorporate vintage hand-carved openwork panels depicting peacock and floral motifs. These reclaimed carved elements bring age, depth and quiet narrative to the piece. Given the individuality of each reclaimed antique panel, every cabinet is inherently one of a kind.
Behind the sliding doors are two internal shelves, offering practical storage for smaller objects. A single drawer below provides additional enclosed storage, maintaining a clean and balanced façade.
The cabinet body is newly constructed from solid Chinese toon wood using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, ensuring strength and longevity.
The marriage of old carved panels and newly crafted structure creates a considered balance between heritage and craftsmanship. Compact yet expressive, it functions equally well as storage and as a sculptural decorative object.
