Lampshade
A softly structured box-pleated lampshade, defined by clean, evenly spaced folds that give the piece a balanced and architectural presence. The edges are neatly finished with matching binding, creating a precise outline, while a hand-tied decorative knot at the front introduces a subtle focal point.
One side of the shade is defined by softer, more relaxed pleats, paired with a matching Chinese knot - a detail often seen on traditional Chinese dress such as the qipao. The other side presents a classic English box-pleated form
Named Chang’an (now known as Xi'an), the historic capital where cultures and aesthetics once converged, this piece reflects a quiet dialogue between two traditions — ornamental and restrained, expressive and structured — brought together in balance.
All lampshades are handmade in England.

Fabrics
The fabric is Song brocade, inspired by traditional patterns recorded during the Qing dynasty. Built on a structured geometric framework, the design brings together motifs such as ruyi (symbolising fulfilment), stylised florals, coin patterns, and the wan symbol, traditionally associated with longevity and continuity in Buddhism.
Within this ordered composition, each motif carries its own meaning — prosperity, vitality, and enduring fortune — woven together into a surface that feels both intricate and harmonious.

Measurements refer to the frame size. Each lampshade is supplied with a frame. All lampshades are made to order, with an estimated dispatch time of 2–3 weeks.
